The Command Center Mausoleum

In 2005 we built a cool low-lying fog machine from a large plastic trash can and large flexible metal duct pipe. The big problem was it was... big... and hard to hide. A large trash can didn't fit in very well with the graveyard. This year we added pneumatics and a computer controlled light show; a lot of added infrastructure which needed someplace to go. Christopher Clark came up with the perfect solution; a custom built mausoleum sized to hold all the "unsightly" mechanical stuff, yet decorated to fit right in!

Here's what the final product looks like:

First, framing a box:

Next the side and front panels were added, cracks, joints, and knots were filled with caulk to help waterproof it, and a nice cross atop the front of the mausoleum:

A grill was cut unobtrusively in the bottom part of the front; this is where the low-lying fog will exit.

Then a hinged top was added, with a handle of course, for easy access to all the controls inside:

And here's the fog machine mounted on the bottom pointed into the intake of the trash-can fog chiller. For best results the fog machine should be several inches away from the input tube. You can also see where we have the output from the fog chiller vented directly into a duct which is mounted behind the front (cut out) grille in the mausoleum:

Finally comes the finishing touches; paint and texturing.
