Cemetery Fence

The Cemetery Fence

Following the excellent instructions in the how-to by Merlin at Haunters Hangout (http://www.hauntershangout.com/home/myfence.asp) we are working on fabricating several sections of PVC based "wrought iron" fence to run around our 2006 cemetery.

The instructions are well written and easy to follow. The only hard part is drilling all those holes in the 1x2s before they warp beyond recognition!

Christopher Clark, our chief of construction, is in charge of fabricating our fence sections. He started with the written instructions, but improvised and improved a bit. We did away with standard 1x2s; they were hard to drill neatly and warped badly very quickly. Instead we used a manufactured wood product that stood up to drilling and the weather much better. We anticipate this fence will last us for many haunted years to come.

Here's our first version, using 1x2s. We got a few sections together but they weren't very robust.

Christopher switched to weather resistant wood and pre-drilled and countersunk holes for all the screws, making for a much neater and more sturdy fence section. Here's Christopher with Bobby (in the green hat) assisting:
