The Flying Witches Return - with a Vengeance

The flying witches made their debut in 2005 - our first homemade animated prop.

The flying witches are a pair of no-nonsense classic evil witches, gleefully flying in circles around Glenda the good witch, whom they have tied up and burning at the stake! Here's what they looked like in '05:

And here's the (daytime) results in 2006:

Unfortunately, their infrastructure didn't survive the past year well, so we made some improvements for this year. First the base was strengthened and modularized for easier storage next year:

Next we enclosed the electric motor that turns the pulley that turns the witch rod:

And last year the witches sat in front of OUR window, we didn't worry much about the shadowed silhouettes of witches flying by our window through the evening. This year we had to make room for more "stuff" so the witches got repositioned - unfortunately their fire-light illuminated the neighbor's window, so Christopher Clark built us a blind to block the light show from their window:
